Solid Surface

Solid surface is a man-made material composed of alumina trihydrate, acrylic, epoxy or polyester resins and pigments. It’s frequently used for seamless countertop installations and is also moldable and easily repaired. It’s a popular choice for commercial applications due to its resistance to bacteria.

Natural Stone Countertops

Natural Stone Countertops can be anything that is quarried from the earth. The most common method of harvesting the stone is cutting them out in huge blocks and then, in simple terms, they are sliced like bread. The most common stones are Granite, Marble, Quartzite, Limestone, Soapstone and travertine. Natural stone countertops are most sought after for their unique appearance and natural beauty. Please visit the Natural Stone Institute of America for further information on material and care. https://www.naturalstoneinstitute.org/consumers/

Quartz

Quartz Countertops are engineered stone products that contain a large percentage of natural quartz but also include other minerals and resins. These are not slabs of quarried stone, but are instead created from grinding particles and forming them into slabs. Made from one of the hardest minerals on earth, quartz countertops are one of the most durable options for kitchens.

Glass Tile

Glass Tile is another material that can be used in an array of applications from floors and walls to Pools. Once thought to be a fad, glass is beginning to stand the test of time in the tile industry. Many manufacturers use recycled glass in their mosaics which makes it a leading environmental product.

Natural Stone

Natural stone is any type of tile that is manufactured from stone that has been harvested from the earth. These tiles are often prized for their natural beauty with every piece being unique. There is rarely consistency in each lot. There are many different types of natural stone tiles with unique attributes — from hardness to look — and all of them can be cut to specific sizes and shapes. The most desired and popular is marble, limestone, and travertine.

Ceramic Tile

Ceramic is a material most used for wall tiles, mosaics, and some lower-traffic floor tiles. It is made up mostly of clay and sand that are ground into a very fine powder. Once water is added, then the mixture is compressed in a mould at high pressure making the “Biscuit”. These are then dried out, primed, painted then glazed. They are then fired in a kiln at approximately 1000oC to create the final product.
